The video presentation highlights specific aspects of accommodating students with dyslexia by considering the following:
- Dyslexia is the most commonly known learning difference. Definitions vary, but the disability is well- documented in Japanese world language classroom.
- As with any learning difference, accommodations should be made to improve learning outcomes. The presentation and materials are taken from a teacher’s perspective to offer insight to other teachers of students with dyslexia.
- Japanese language orthography and writing may improve learning mechanisms, such as short-term memory.
